Golden Triangle with Kerala :Delhi – Agra – Jaipur – Cochin – Kumarakom – Houseboat – Kovalam : 15 days

Day 01                  Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal III, meet and greet at the airport and then transfer to the hotel. Spend rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Delhi.

Day 02                  In Delhi

After breakfast, full day sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi.
The visit of the old city ( belongs to XVIIth century) includes the Great Mosque, Jama Masjid and the Red Fort, a perfect example of Mughal architecture built by Emperor Shah Jahan between 1639 and 1648. Enjoy cycle rickshaw ride around the colorful giant bazaar, Chandni Chowk.
In the new part of the city visit – theQutab Minar (built in XIIth century), a splendid monument minaret of the Afghan period. Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, and the Mausoleum of Humayun – a huge building that inspired Persians, is the precursor of the Taj Mahal. Rajpath, the equivalent of the Champs Elysees in France, the India Gate (erected in the memory of unknown soldiers died during First World War), The Parliament, and the house of the President.

Day 03                  Drive Delhi – Agra (220 Kms / 04 hours)

After breakfast drive by surface for Agra, the city of Seventh wonder of the world. Agra which is known for its world famous buildings constructed by the Great Mughals, situated on the bank of the river. On arrival in Agra, check into hotel. After a short rest proceed for the visit of Agra Fort – the construction of the massive fort was began by Emperor Akbar following with the additions by the different Mughal emperors.

Day 04                  Drive Agra – Jaipur (250 Kms / 05 hours) Enroute Fatehpur Sikri

Early morning the sunrise visit of the famous TAJ MAHAL This spectacular white marble mausoleum was built by Emperor Shah Jehan for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is a most extravagant monument ever built for love. The shimmering reflection in the water channels is truly breathtaking. After viewing Taj Mahal, return back to the hotel.
After breakfast drive to Jaipur. Popularly known as the Pink City, was built in 1727 AD by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, designed in accordance with Shilpa Shastra, an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture. En-route visit Fathepur Sikri, this magnificent fortified city was the Capital of the Mughal Empire between 1517 and 1585, but had to leave because of shortage of water. After the visit, continue your drive for Jaipur.On arrival in Jaipur, check into hotel.

Day 05                  In Jaipur

After breakfast full day sightseeing tour of Jaipur visiting — The Amber Fort situated on the one of the ancient ranges Aravali Hills, 11 kms from Jaipur which was the ancient capital of Jaipur Maharaja, a good example of Rajput style architecture. A slow elephant ride takes you to the top of the Fort, which houses several graceful buildings and a temple of Kali. Later visit City Palace and Observatory. City palace is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The son of the last maharaja and his family still reside in the part of the palace. Observatory – Jantar Mantar, built by Jai Singh in 18th Century which is the finest observatory built by Jai Singh out of five Observatories.

Day 06                  Fly Jaipur – Mumbai & Connecting Flight for  Mumbai – Cochin

Morning after breakfast drive to Jaipur airport to board flight for Mumbai connecting further flight to Cochin. Meet on arrival at Cochin airport and transfer to hotel. Cochin has a rich cultural history, but it is also one of the most modern cities of India. One of the best natural harbors in the world and a major port of India. The city has strong, palaces, museums, churches, rivers, lagoons but at the same time, it is a modern city. Evening witness Kathakali dance performance at the theater. Kathakali is a dance that displays the works of India’s epic (Ramayana and Mahabharata). The dancers are dressed in many colors and details. Their faces painted to represent the heroes of the works.

Day 07                  In Cochin

Morning sightseeing tour of Cochin visiting Jewish synagogue – the oldest synagogue in the entire commonwealth, St. Francis Church, St. Mary’s Cathedral, Cochin Harbor, Terminus, Chinese Fishing Nets, Mattancherry Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese is known for its murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata and dresses and palanquins used by Cochin’s erstwhile rulers. Spend rest of the day at leisure.

Day 08                  Drive Cochin – Kumarakom (85 Kms / 02 hours)

Morning after breakfast, start your journey for Kumarakom. The drive is a wonderful experience passing through the backwater and plantations. Seeing Kumarakom, it becomes very clear why Kerala is called the “Land of Gods.” This charming village is made up of several towns on Lake Vembanad, a paradise for birdwatchers. With its mangroves so beautiful, its clear waters, its emerald fields, its canals lined with coconut palms and white lilies, the village is the perfect place for a few days of vacation. You can explore the bird sanctuary, walking on the canals, or fishing. On arrival In Kumarakom, check into hotel. Spend rest of the day at leisure.

Day 10                    Transfer Kumarakom – Houseboat Jetty

Morning at leisure, later in time transfer to board the houseboat, which is one of the highlights of any trip to Kerala. It’s once a lifetime impression to have such a romantic and beautiful experience. Browsing through villages built on narrow pieces of land, stopping to visit local markets, or to watch craftsmen busy with their previous work to build boats. Time spend on the houseboat passing through the Backwaters of Kerala. Here your houseboat crew will prepare delicious Keralian meals from freshly brought vegetables from the market.

Day 11                   Drive Houseboat – Kovalam (165 Kms / 04 hours)

Disembark houseboat at Alleppey and drive to Kovalam. Few years ago this place was famous among hippies but today this area is the focus of a multimillion dollar business drawing thousands of tourist. On arrival in Kovalam, check into hotel. Spend rest of the day relaxing on the beaches.
