Western Zone (Bagori): Both jeep and elephant safari are available here. In this zone you are going to witness a lot of wildlife including rhinos, wild buffalo, elephants, swamp deer and beautiful landscapes of Donga Beel and Mori Diffalu River. 

Eastern Zone (Agaratoli): Birders’ heaven – Pallas’s fish eagle, Bengal Florican, kingfishers, eagles and waterfowl can be spotted here. Here you can enjoy a Gypsy safari and a Boat safari.

Burapahar (Ghorakati): Loacted near the Gorakhati village. The safaris for this zone start from the famous Rhinoland Park. With hilly terrain and grasslands, this zone is less explored and less crowded, good for trekkers as well.

Northern Zone (Bishwanath): Newest range across the Brahmaputra River with dolphins and endless sky. This is a less developed tourist area.

Southern (Panbari): It is a reserve forest near Kaziranga. It is a popular spot for bird watching and wildlife spotting including the Hoolock Gibbon and Capped Langur.

Best Time to Visit Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga has a subtropical monsoon climate with an average annual rainfall of 1320mm and temperatures ranging from 15 degrees during winter to 38 degrees Celsius in summer. 

The best time to Visit Kaziranga National Park is November to April. Summers are generally humid; park remains closed during monsoon.

How to reach to Visit Kaziranga National Park

By Air: Guwahati Airport is 217 km away from Kaziranga and the nearest airport is Jorhat which is 95km away. Guwahati is best for international connectivity and for domestic big cities too. Jorhat is good for domestic flights. Taxies can be hired from both the airports.

By Train: The nearest railhead is Jakhalabandha, which is 50 km from Kohora, Kaziranga’s center. Other options are Furkating Junction, which is 125 km away, and Guwahati Railway Station, which is 165km away.

By Road: Kaziranga is well connected to roads. You may take Government buses or luxury private buses from Guwahati bus stop itself.  Taxi services are also available at moderate rates.
