Char Dham Yatra Package: : Delhi – Haridwar – Barkot – Yamunotri – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Guptakashi – Gaurikund – Kedarnath – Badrinath – Rishikesh : 11 days

Char Dham refers to the four famous Hindu religious sites found in Uttarakhand state, India. The holy sites include Yamunotri, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Badrinath. Char Dham Yatra package grants you the unique opportunity to tour around these four religious epicenters in Northern India. Along the way, you will also enjoy stunning towns, tantalizing landscape views, and beautiful ancient temples.

Day 01                        Delhi to Haridwar

Pick up from the airport /railway station or your residence in Delhi, and then proceed drive towards Haridwar. Upon arrival, check into hotel. Haridwar is one of the most sacred spots in India, lying along the holy River Ganges. Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world visit this place to take a holy dip. Later visit Har Ki Pauri and witness the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony. After sightseeing, return back to your hotel.

Day 02                        Haridwar to Barkot

Take your breakfast early and embark on a 176km drive to Barkot. You will arrive around noon, granting you ample resting time for the rest of the day and night.

Day 03                        Barkot to Yamunotri and then back to Barkot

Package for Char Dham Yatra offers you the opportunity to visit Yamunotri. After having an early breakfast, drive 45km to reach Janki Chatti. From here, take a 5km trek to Yamunotri – one of the most sacred Dhams.

Yamunotri Dham is a 19th-century temple built by Maharani on Jaipur. Legend has it that a sage called Asit could not visit Gangotri because of old age. However, Ganga River emerged from a rock close to his place and fulfilled his wishes.

Yamunotri inner sanctum has the idol of Goddess Yamuna made of black marble. 

The hot springs outside the temple are the most sacred. After darshan, trek back to Janki Chatti and head back for Barkot for your evening rest.

Day 04                        Barkot to Uttarkashi

Morning after early breakfast, drive to 198 km to reach Uttarkashi early enough. Upon arrival in Uttarkashi, check in to your pre-booked resort and rest. Later in the evening, if you have adequate time, visit Vishwanath Temple. Afterward, return to your accommodation, have dinner, and night at Uttarkashi.

Day 05                        Uttarkashi to Gangotri and then back to Uttarkashi

On this day of your Char Dham Yatra package, you are offering dharshan to Gangotri Dham. Take a 95km morning drive to Gangotri, along River Ganges. Gangotri is another Dham of great significance. The temple was first built in the 18th century and later rebuilt by Jaipur’s Maharaja. It features a modest granite structure.

Hindus believe that Ganga contains ‘Amrit’ – holy nectar that many believe cleanses all sins. Additionally, there is a myth that King Bhagirathi brought down Goddess Ganga to earth at this sacred place.

After this escapade, drive back to Uttarkashi and have your dinner and evening rest.

Day 06                        Uttarkashi to Guptakashi

Have your breakfast, and then embark on a 198km drive to Guptkashi. Upon arrival, check into hotel. Later enjoy your dinner. Night at Guptakashi

Day 07                        Guptakashi to Gaurikund and then to Kedarnath

Wake up early and embark on a 35km drive to Gaurikund. It is the last viable road ahead before you begin a 17km trek to Kedarnath Temple. On your way, enjoy waterfalls, deep ravines, tiny shrines, and tea shops, all enclosed in the lush green forests.

Offer dharshan to Kedarnath Dham, the ancient temple features a carved exterior, with a courtyard under the protection of the Nandi Bull. The spot plays a vital role in the legendary Mahabharata. 

Find one of the famous 12 naturally formed ‘Jotrilingas’ in the main sanctum. You also get to view the carved shapes of Lord Shiva and Pandavas. Spend the night at the guesthouse.

Day 08                        Kedarnath to Gaurikund and then to Rudraprayag

Take a morning trek back to Gaurikund, and then drive to Rudraprayag. River Alaknanda from Badrinath and River Mandakini meet at this point. When you arrive, check in to your hotel and stay overnight.

Day 09                        Rudraprayag to Badrinath

Take an early breakfast and head for the fourth Dham – Badrinath Dham. It is 155km away from Rudraprayag. On your way, you will drive through Joshimath and Govindghat. River Alaknanda divides this sprawling village that serves as its origin.

An increase in the number of pilgrims visiting the temple has led to the enlargement of the Dham. At the inner sanctum, you will find the idol of Vishnu (made in black stone) resting under a golden canopy. Stay at your hotel for the rest of the night.

Day 10                        Badrinath to Rishikesh

Rishikesh is 295km away from Badrinath. Tour package for Char Dham Yatra grants you the opportunity to tour this place. On your way, make a brief stop at Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, and take amazing photos as you enjoy magnificent views. Afterward, get back on the road and head for Rishikesh. When you arrive, if the time permits, explore the surroundings and visit Laksham and Ram Jhula.  Night in Rishikesh.

Day 11                        Rishikesh to Delhi

Take your breakfast early, and later head for Delhi. It is 295km from Rishikesh. Once you arrive, head for airport, and board a flight to your next destination.
