Day 01                      Arrive at Leh, 12,500 ft/3,500 mtrs above sea level

Arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport where you are met and welcomed by one of our staff who then accompanies you to check-in at a hotel at the town. At the hotel, you will be treated with a traditional welcome before checking in.

Spend the day relaxing and in the evening, walk around the local bazar of Leh.

Night in Leh

Day 02                  Sightseeing –Shanti Stupa, Sankar Monastery and Leh Palace; 20KM

Start your Ladakh adventure at Shanti Stupa where you climb up the hill for a scenic view of the historic and picturesque Leh town. Along the way, make a stop at Sankar Monastery to catch a glimpse of the little monastery’s rich collection of miniature pure gold statues and fascinating paintings.

Thereafter, visit Leh Palace and learn more about this 17th century built wonder and King Sengge Namgyal. Guides will tell you about its construction vis-à-vis Potala Palace in Lhasa. Understand why the Archaeological Survey of India is partially restoring this 9-storey palace.

Night in Leh

Day 03                Leave Leh for Alchi, Sangam, Likir Monastery and Alchi; 67KM

After breakfast at Leh, head out for Alchi. The first stop is Kali Mata for a little walk around the Temple of Guardians. Next stop is Gurudwara Pathar Sahib before making another halt the famous Magnetic Hill Point where vehicles resist gravity.

Afterwards, make a little stop at meeting point of Indus and Zanskar Rivers and marvel at the sheer might of the two rivers. En-route Alchi Monastery, visit Likir Monastery for a little history of the monastery. Sign off the day’s trip at Alchi Monastery where fascinating 11th century wall paintings and the lush greenery will leave you stunned. Spend the night at a hotel in Uley tokpo, Alchi.

Day 04                  Cover 160 Kms of Alchi/Ulley Tokpo, Dha Hanu, Lamayuru, and Leh

Immediately after breakfast, depart for Dahanu Valley – an adrenaline-filled drive down Indus to the Drokpa community. Along the way, take a breather and marvel at the picturesque views of the landscape and the Shyok-Indus confluence. Continue to the beautiful Beema and Dah villages and meet and interact with the Drokpa community. Learn about their well-preserved cultural lifestyle that traces to centuries ago.

Once done, drive to Chikthang village for another cultural visit before going on to Lamayuru Monastery and later pass through the iconic Fatula Passes. After a brief stop at Lamayuru Monastery – the oldest monastery in the region, be sure to catch a glimpse of the remarkable Moon landscape. Later, head back for an overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.

Day 05           Cover the 128 kms Leh-Nubra Valley route via Khardung-la pass

Take your breakfast at Leh and an immediate drive for Nubra Valley, passing through the spectacular Khardong-La pass. Experience the surreal feeling of Khardong-La – the world’s highest road, at 5,602Mts/18,390Ft, near the Himalayas ranges.

Descend down the pass to a stunning view of flowers of Ldorma, Nubra Valley. Arrive to a beautiful view of Hunder in the afternoon and check in at a hotel/camp. Later, go on a hiking or flower watching expedition or simply take a rest and watch the sun set. You can take a ride on the 2-humped Bactrian camel at your own cost. Have a dinner and retire for the night.

Day 06   Explore Hunder and Turtuk Village, a 160 kms round trip

Have your breakfast and drive through the beauty of Ladakh, covering a route that was recently opened for tourists. Eenjoy the fascinating sights of the mountain ranges along the way. Hunder is mainly controlled by Ladakh Scouts, but interacting with the locals in their farms, you will learn a lot on their ways of life.

Visit Baltistan, a village of charismatic locals and learn how to harness mules and porters or how to cultivate veggies and apricot. Listen to them narrate history of their village and why Turtuk is their home. After this full day’s excursion, head back to Nubra Valley for dinner and an overnight stay at camp in Hunder.

Day 07                  Travel 126 kms Hunder – Leh route

After breakfast, go on a Diskit monastery visit, a 14th century wonder attributed to Changzem Tserab Zangpo. Trek up to the Dalai Lama-inaugurated 100-foot Maitreya Buddha statue and discover why it holds lots of significance in the local community. Later, catch a view of the breath-taking Nubra valley from atop the Gompa.

Turn back to Leh using the same route in the evening and check in upon arriving. Immediately after, explore Leh market for a few bargains. Retreat for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 08                Cover 240 kms Leh – Chumathang –Tsomoriri Trip

Take your breakfast and check out of the hotel. Take the route, making your first stop at Chumathang where a reinvigorating bath at the natural hot springs awaits. Immediately after, take Mahey bridge and drive to Tsomoriri Lake located 4500Mts above sea level.

At the colourfully turquoise lake, learn about the nomadic life of the locals as you marvel at the beautiful landscape surrounding the lake, including Rupsho Valley. There’s a little village called Korzok for your overnight stay.

Day 09                  Explore Tsomoriri, Visit Tsokar Lake and head back to Leh

Have your breakfast before driving via Puga, a Sulphur mine. Use the 4920Mts Polokongka Pass and stop at Tsokar Lake, a salt lake. Learn about the native Changa nomads and why they call the lonely Rupsho plateau their home.

Later, drive towards Leh, taking the Skyangchu-Thang route. You will cross the 17,585ft Taglang-La pass and the Indus Valley. Be sure to stop by Hemis Monastery along the way before arriving at Leh just before dusk. Go on an evening stroll and explore Leh market before spending the night in the hotel.

Day 10                  Sightseeing Expedition – Leh, Shey, Thiksey, and Hemis Singh Ghat : 86 Kms

Breakfast at the hotel before heading for the East Indus Valley. First stop at Shey, Ladakh’s ex-capital before making another stop at monasteries in Druk Pama Karpo and Thiksey. Visit the largest, wealthiest monastery in Ladakh – Hemis Monastery.

After another brief stop at Sindhu Ghat, arrive and check in in Leh in the evening. Explore the markets before an overnight rest at the hotel.

Day 11                  Departure

Check out at the hotel where our team express their gratitude for your patronage. A drive a punctual drop at the airport.
