This red-colored stone-walled monument is mindboggling. It took an incredible nine years to complete its construction. And so, a tour of the Red Fort would take you to all the monuments inside it, including NaqqarKhana, MumtazMahal, Diwan – I – Am, Rang Mahal and Muthamman – Burj among others.

Entering this royal marvel, you will either use the Delhi Gate or alternatively opt for the Lahori Gate. Once inside, our professional guides will be at hand to take you through all that happened at the ‘DRUM House’ and all the other compartments.

If you have always wanted to learn about the Mughal Empire and how it was run, be sure to take a tour of the Red Fort. Inside the Delhi Fort Museum, which you will visit after seeing all the monuments, are lots of artifacts used during the Mughal era.

Generally, the fort is beautiful, majestic, and awe-inspiring. It is the only place you’d learn about the architecture of Mughals, their ways of life, and what historians never told you about them.

Qutab Minar : A must in your places to visit in Delhi

Tour the Indian version of the world-famous Leaning Minar of Pisa, the marble and red Sandstone-made QutubMinar. Standing tall, 72.5 meters high, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and interestingly, the 2nd tallest minaret in India.

It was constructed under the orders of the first Muslim Ruler of Delhi, QutubdinnAibak, but later completed under his successor, Illtumish. And like the astonishing Mughal architectural design and architecture of yesteryears, QutubMinar says a lot about the ancient technologies.

The mosque, which is at the foot of the minar, also tells a lot about the Mughal influence in Indian Culture back then. Perhaps the highlight of it all is the inscriptions from the Quran on the walls and the number of years the writings have withstood to date.

As you tour Delhi, be sure to make a stop at the QutubMinar. It is tilted, about 60 cm from the vertical, and rightly the reason why it is India’s leaning tower of Pisa!

Humayun’s Tomb

Still standing tall, looking beautiful and paying homage to the ancient Mughal architecture, Humayun’s Tomb is an absolute must-visit monument on your Delhi tour package. The tomb was built to celebrate Humayun, under the orders of his Persian wife, HAJI begum.

Ideally, Humayun Tomb is the little TajMahal of Delhi. Yet from afar, the beautiful look of this mausoleum makes it appear if it’s floating alone in the air. It has an arched façade made of marble and red sandstone, as it’s typical of the Mughals and the Muslim architecture guidelines of that era.

Humayun’s Tomb

A tour of the Humayun Tomb is pretty enchanting. The small water channel leading to the beautiful tomb is inspired by the water faithful are believed to pass through before reaching heaven. And as you make your way in, the lush greenery on both sides and the incredible architecture simply make you feel like one of the Mughal Emperors.

The mausoleum is history-rich with lots of influential individuals of the eras gone by buried in there. One of them is the monument of Khan; the I-Khanan’s tomb. Incredibly, every monument in there is still well taken care of.

Make a tour of Humayun Tomb and learn the history behind its existence. It is a place with lots of interesting discoveries, including the fact that it was Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last Mughal Emperor’s hideout before his 1857 capture by the British.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

Visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, India’s most prominent Sikh Gurudwara and a historic worship center. Famous because of the 8th Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishna, theGurudwara is still a holy place today, as it was in 1664 when it was first used.

It is found in Connaught Place and will make your Delhi tour a little more memorable. You will learn about the reason behind its construction, its association with Guru HarKrishan Sahib Ji and why the water tank inside this Gurudwara is highly revered.

Other things to see on your trip of Gurdwara Bangla Shahib are the massive holy pond, the temple as well as the big art display. Vegan foods served inside this religious center are specially prepared by Gurusikhs, although there are many volunteers to offer a hand as well.

Anyone is welcome to this beautiful Gurdwara Bangla Shahib and entry is quite organized. Inside, the complex features a charming detailed white marble work and white outside with a golden dome makes it picturesque.

You are free to gulp down the holy water on offer as it is absolutely safe to drink. You can also join in the chanting of holy hymns and shout the name of Guru HarKrishan Sahib Ji. However, be sure that the entire trip, even though it may need at least half a day to tour every aspect of the whole complex on one go, will be well worth it.

India Gate

To cap off a memorable Delhi tour, make sure to stop at the beautiful monument built to honor those who perished between 1914 and 1921. India Gate in Rajpath celebrates the brave Indian soldiers who died during the 1st World War and includes all the names of the 82,000 of them written on it.

Interestingly, the gate has a little marble plinth featuring a reversed rifle with a war helmet and four flames that burn and never go off throughout the year. The gate and the whole monument is the pride of India.
