Day 01                  Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal II you will be taken to your hotel. Spend rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02                  In Delhi

After breakfast, full day sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi.
The visit of the old city ( belongs to XVIIth century) includes the Great Mosque, Jama Masjid and the Red Fort, a perfect example of Mughal architecture built by Emperor Shah Jahan between 1639 and 1648. Enjoy cycle rickshaw ride around the colorful giant bazaar, ChandniChowk. In the new part of the city visit – theQutabMinar (built in XIIth century), a splendid monument minaret of the Afghan period. Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, and the Mausoleum of Humayun – a huge building that inspired Persians, is the precursor of the TajMahal. Rajpath, the equivalent of the Champs Elysees in France, the India Gate (erected in the memory of unknown soldiers died during First World War), The Parliament, and the house of the President.

Day 03                Drive Delhi – Jaipur (265 Kms / 05 hours)

Morning after breakfast drive by surface for Jaipur. Popularly known as the Pink City, was built in 1727 AD by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, designed in accordance with ShilpaShastra, an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture. On arrival in Jaipur, check into hotel. Rest of the day spends at leisure visiting the surroundings.

Day 04                  In Jaipur

After breakfast full day sightseeing tour of Jaipur visiting — The Amber Fort situated on the one of the ancient ranges Aravali Hills, 11 kms from Jaipur which was the ancient capital of Jaipur Maharaja, a good example of Rajput style architecture. A slow elephant ride takes you to the top of the Fort, which houses several graceful buildings and a temple of Kali. Later visit City Palace and Observatory. City palace is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The son of the last maharaja and his family still reside in the part of the palace. Observatory – JantarMantar, built by Jai Singh in 18th Century which is the finest observatory built by Jai Singh out of five Observatories.

Day 05                Drive Jaipur – Deogarh (275 Kms / 05 hours)

After breakfast drive to Deogarh, surrounded by lakes, hills and rugged countryside, it’s an ideal place to take a break from the rigours of traveling in India. On arrival in Deogarh check into a delightful Deogarh Castle.DeogarhMahal is an imposing structure built in the 17th century, a fortified palace situated in the heart of Deogarh village which has been converted into a hotel with a beautiful pool, impressive dining, terraces and rooms which is one of the most impressive historic hotel of Rajasthan. Rest of the day is free to explore the colorful village of Deogarh.

Day 06                 Drive Deogarh – Udaipur (140 Kms / 2.5 hours)

After breakfast drive to Udaipur, one of the most romantic cities of India. Udaipur has been called the “City of Dreams” and “City of the Rising Sun.” MaharanaUdai Singh built the blue lakes, (which reflects the hills of the Aravali Mountains) for the purposes of his new capital, founded in 1568.

Day 07                  In Udaipur

Built along three lakes , Udaipur is known as the « Venice of the East « Udaipur is full of Palaces, temples and ornate residences ranging from the modest to the extravagant. After breakfast visit the towering City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, Saheliyon Ki Bari (Garden of the Maidens), Superb Jagdish Temple, popular for its elephant carving. The day ends with a boat trip on the sparkling waters of Lake Pichola. At the time of sunset, one can easily understand why Udaipur is the “Venice of the East.”

Day 07                Drive Udaipur – Kumbhalgarh (65 Kms / 1.5 hours) en route visit Ranakpur

After breakfast drive to Kumbalgarh en-route visiting Ranakpur Jain temples, a famous Temple complex, one of the biggest and most important of Jain temples in India. The main temple is the Chaumukha Temple, or Four Faced Temple, dedicated to Adinath. Built in 1439, this huge, superbly crafted and well-kept marble temple has 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars and no two are alike. After the visit continue driver towards Kumbalgarh – having the most important fort in the Mewar region built by Maharaja Kumbha in the 15th century on the Aravali Range which is one of the oldest mountain ranges in India. Because of its inaccessibility and hostile topography the fort had remained un-conquered. The walls of the fort stretch some 36 kms and enclose many temples, palaces, garden and water storage facilities. On arrival in Kumbalgarh, check into hotel.

Day 08                Drive Kumbalgarh – Jodhpur (220 Kms / 05 hours)

Morning after breakfast proceed for the half day sightseeing tour of Jodhpur. There are many great fortresses throughout Rajasthan, but nothing like the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, built at a 400 ft. Within this citadel are magnificent palaces with marvelously carved panels, latticed windows and evocative names. These palaces house a fabulous collection of possessions of Indian royalty, including s superb collection of palanquins, elephant howdahs, miniature paintings, musical instruments, costumes and furniture. Below the fort visit the JaswantThada, a graceful marble cenotaph built in1899 for Maharajah Jaswant Singh II, and the momorials of other Maharahahs of Jodhpur.Spend rest of the day at leisure.

Day 10                Drive Jodhpur – Jaisalmer (290 Kms / 05 hours)

After breakfast drive to Jaisalmer, a fascinating city rising from the heart of the TharDesert . Nothing else in India is remotely similar to this enchanting city, which is also called « The Golden City »because of its honey color. A visit to Jaisalmer is a must for any traveler in India, with the possibility of camel trekking through the magnificent sand. Jaisalmer Fort is the world’s only living fort and about quarter of the city’s population still live in the Fort. On arrival in Jaisalmer, check into hotel.

Day 11                In Jaisalmer

After breakfast sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer visiting – Jaisalmer Fort, the only alive fort which you will not see anywhere in India. There are homes and hotels hidden in the laneways and shops. Within the fort walls there are beautifully carved Jain temples built between the 12th and 15th centuries followed by a visit of Gaddisagar Lake and impressive Havelis around the Fort. Day 12                Drive Jaisalmer – Bikaner(320 Kms / 05 hours)

Morning after breakfast drive to Bikaner, a deserted journey with scanty vegetation. Bikaner is a royal fortified city with a timeless charm and medieval glory. It is located in northern Rajasthan, amongst the sand dunes. Known as the “Land of the Camel” Bikaner boasts of having the best camels in the world. This desert town popular for its temple and Forts, which shows the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the city. « Karni Mata » is one of the most fascinating temples situated in the south of Bikaner. On arrival in Bikaner, check into hotel.
After a short rest proceed for the half day sightseeing tour of Bikaner discovering Junagarh Fort, built between 1589 and 1594 by Raja Rai Singh. Visit the Temple of Karni Mata Deshnok -built 600 years ago and dedicated to Karni Mata, an incarnation of the goddess Durga. The temple has huge doors, carved in silver, a gift from the Maharajah Ganga Singh followed by visit to a breeding center and research on camels, the only institution of this kind in India. Day 14              Drive Mandawa – Samode (130 Kms / 03 hours)

Day 15              Drive Samode – Agra (270 Kms / 05 hours) Enroute Fatehursikri Sikri

After breakfast drive by surface for Agra en-route visit FathepurSikri. This magnificent fortified city was the Capital of the Mughal Empire between 1517 and 1585, but had to leave because of Shortage of water. After the visit continue your drive for Agra., the city of Seventh wonder of the world Agra which is known for its world famous buildings constructed by the Great Mughals, situated on the bank of the river. Early morning the sunrise visit of the famous TAJ MAHAL This spectacular white marble mausoleum was built by Emperor Shah Jehan for his beloved wife, MumtazMahal. It is a most extravagant monument ever built for love. The shimmering reflection in the water channels is truly breathtaking. After viewing TajMahal, return back to the hotel. Day 19             Fly Khajuraho – Varanasi

Morning after breakfast, spend time at leisure . Later in time drive to Khajuraho airport to board flight for Varanasi, the city of Lord SHIVA, situated on the bank of the sacred Ganges is one of the holiest places in India and an important destination for pilgrims. Varanasi has been a center of knowledge and civilization for over 2,000 years. It is probably the oldest city of India, and one of the oldest in the world. Varanasi has always been a major cultural center for music, knowledge, and the art of silk weaving. Met on arrival at Varanasi airport and transfer to hotel. After a short rest proceed for an excursion towards the ancient Buddhist site of Sarnath, a centre of Buddhist worship built by the emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC.

Day 20             Fly Varanasi – Delhi & Fly Delhi – Mumbai

Very early morning take a dawn boat ride on the Ganges where you will see the Hindu rituals of thread ceremony, removing of hair, offering food to the departed souls, bathing, laundry and the cremation of the dead. After the boat ride walk through the fascinating narrow twisting lanes of the city to watch the performance of various Hindu rituals by the pilgrims.

Day 21             Fly Mumbai – Aurangabad

The city got its name from the Mughal emperor Aurangazeb who made it his capital. It’s a logical base for visiting the famous Ellora and Ajanta caves. The city is also a major industrial hub for Maharashtra. After a short rest proceed for the city tour of Aurangabad visiting the beautiful BibiKaMaqbara – the burial place of Aurangzeb’s wife, is an imitation of the Taj at Agra and due to its similar design, it is popularly known as the Mini Taj of the Deccan, followed by a visit of Panchakki – famous for its underground water channel, which traverses more than 8 km. to its source away in the mountains. Day 22            In Aurangabad

Morning after breakfast drive about 106 kms for an excursion of Ajanta caves. Ajanta Caves classified as World Heritage are rock-cut cave monuments dating from the second century BCE, containing paintings and sculpture considered to be masterpieces of both Buddhist religious art and universal pictorial art. The 29 Buddhist caves of Ajanta are cut into the steep face of a horseshoe-shaped rock gorge on the waghore river. They are sequentially numbered, the oldest are mainly in the middle and the newer ones are close to each end. Experience the beautiful architecture and painting and later return back to the hotel.

Day 23            In Aurangabad

Morning after breakfast drive for an excursion to visit Ellora caves located about 30 kms from Aurangabad are the pinnacle of Deccan rock-cut architecture. The 34 “caves” – actually structures excavated out of the vertical face of the Charanandri hills being Buddhist, Hindu and Jain cave temples and monasteries, were built between the 5th century and 10th century. The 12 Buddhist (caves 1–12), 17 Hindu (caves 13–29) and 5 Jain caves (caves 30–34), built in proximity, demonstrate the religious harmony prevalent during this period of Indian history. Spend the day experiencing the beautiful caves and later drive back to the hotel.
